Do bad boys always get the girls? Are women really attracted to bad boys? This has been a question asked over and over again by us good guys, for it certainly seems that it is always the ruthless tough guy, Mr. Bad Boy, who always gets the girl. In high school and college it was always the macho, wild-partying, loud-talking, rebellious beer-drinkers who were always seen with the best looking babes. The attractive women always seem to be chasing and flirting with the bad guys.

What gives?

Bad boys seem to be strong and tough, which is essentially what many women are traditionally attracted to first and foremost. They want a strong man who can protect and defend them. Bad boys project that air of toughness and strength that women feel most protected by.  Bad boys seem to be gutsy, doing whatever they and whenever they want and never seem to feel the need to give explanations for it. They set their own rules and follow them. That air of self-assuredness and self-confidence is what many women look for and they see it in bad boys.

Another factor that explains why women usually go for bad boys is because they are a challenge. They present a problem that needs to be fixed and women like to be the one who tames a bad boy. Take Whitney Houston when she married Bobby Brown. Bobby Brown was one of the music industry’s best-known bad boys at the time of their marriage while Whitney Houston was regarded as a darling. She saw a challenge in him. Never mind that it turned out to be a very disastrous challenge but that’s what women love.

So, should we nice guys become bad boys? I am nice guy and there is no way I’m going to change my ways to please a woman who wants a total idiot just because she wants a challenge. I can be a bad boy when I want to and when I am I can be awfully wicked. And I always put on an act that shows a high level of self-confidence. So, to my fellow nice guys, try can learn to project an air of bad. You don’t have to be a bad boy to set your own your own rules and do what you want. You can rebel against society without compromising your gentlemanly qualities. Do what you can to boost self-esteem. Excel in your career. Spend more time in the weight-training room. Watch more NFL and WWE. Gain more testosterone. Projecting an air of more self-confidence and toughness will make you more attractive.
