Common Myths About Men
Just some myths about men that I have heard and, being a guy, felt like giving my thoughts about them. Remember that this is just my opinion on the matters and obviously not fact.
1. Men don’t ask for directions: Really now? There are so many times when I am sitting in front of my house or walking down the street and people stop to ask me for directions. The majority of these people happen to be men. We may like to try to figure stuff out on our own without outside help but that is because we like to think that we can handle a simple task. Admittedly they aren’t always as simple as they seem. The basis of this myth is that men have too big of an ego to admit they are wrong and that they don;t know where they are or where a destination is. That would also be untrue for the most part because once we realize we are lost, it is very simple and painless to ask for directions. I do it all of the time.
2. Men are stupid: Yeah right. Just because a few men are stupid doesn’t mean we should all be categorized like that. That would be the same as saying all women are stupid just because a small percentage of them are. The blonde stereotype could be widened to include all women if that is the way people want to think about it in general. Men have made a huge amount of things that almost everybody uses daily and they don’t even think about it. Not to say women haven’t pulled their weight but that doesn’t really affect my arguement.
3. Men are mostly emotionless: This is just an ignorant myth. I have no idea who would even consider this to be true. Everybody has emotions whether they are good or bad. Guys just tend to keep quiet about their emotions more often. It makes things easier a lot of the time because it prevents confrontation which is a waste of time in most cases. This allows things that are productive or more desirable to be done. I personally am very emotional and I don’t hide it. When I am pissed, I come right out and say it. When I am happy I let it be known. I think that is makes things clear and simple so that people know what I like or dislike but a lot of men see it differently.
4. Men constantly think about sex: This for the majority of men is relatively true. over 50% of men think about sex at least once a day but 45% or so think about it only a couple times a week or month while the remaining men think about it less than once a month. Very different from what a lot of people think. Women do think about sex less often statistically but depending on the man and the woman, the woman may think about sex 10 times as much as the chosen guy.
Now for a myth related to the male body…
5. The bigger the feet the bigger the…you know: This myth is completely untrue. The same genes that affect a the growth of fingers and toes also do happen to affect the growth of their penis but just because somebodies feet or hands may be small, doesn’t mean that they aren’t packing and vice versa. If you want to be able to tell a guys size, you may have to get your hands dirty.

Amen brother. Funny article but written very well and I think it should be posted on the front pages of most newspapers, so that the stereotypical nonsense can end.

I love the blog and what is said in it. I always appreciate a HUMAN BEING who is not ignorant. I mean I wish everyone else could understand that it’s not a male or female thing it’s a human being thing you know what I mean.
