Did Genetics Make Him a Jerk? Take The Finger Test

Whether or not someone is a jerk may be determined by a single finger. Why you should take a closer look at people’s fingers.

Here’s the test: Is your boyfriend’s fourth finger longer than your second finger? If so, than he might be a jerk.

New scientific studies are revealing surprising new links between our digits and our disposition. Apparently there’s a hormone that causes aggression and strength. This hormone, called androgen, has also been found to do another surprising thing – cause extra long ring fingers to babies while they’re in the womb.

In an England study with monkeys, researchers have noticed that the animals with higher levels of androgen tend to be more promiscuous and competitive. Monkeys with lower levels tended to be more monogamous.

Is this the perfect test to determine who’s nice and who’s not? It would sure be super if it could be so simple. Unfortunately we humans are just a bit too complex. We’ve all got our jerky moments, even those of us with “normal” sized ring fingers. I’d hate to see anyone take this too seriously. Next thing you know a man commits a crime out of anger and his lawyer gets him off with the defense that it wasn’t his fault. He’s genetically a jerk.

But just to be safe, the next guy you meet that you’re considering dating, take a moment to look at his hands. If his fourth finger is just a tad too long, you might just want to give him the finger.
