If Nothing is for Free
Poem.

As seen in the society of what we call the animal
Born with a peculiar right-the right to fight
To pursue his own interest
By any means necessary
A Darwinian ethical value-natural
With the expert use of violence and force-factual
Men too are born with this as a natural right
But in pursuit of the safety within society, must consider it a blight
On human relations
So most men trade in his natural right without hesitation
In order to receive and participate in
A system of fairness, Justice, order, and safety
As a means to an end
To life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness
But this is merely a trade
Not something for free you gave
And in honor of that we must insist that each society
Must so continue to behave
Since it is true each one owes fairness, Justice, and a safety net to you
So you can always bounce back into society, should you momentarily fail
But can get a boost from a minimal aid
In order to make this an honorable trade
Thus let no false philosophy come along
To tell you society owes you nothing
That you are not worthy
Or that you don’t belong
Liked it
