How men’s hair styles have changed through the years.

Do you remember when  men parted their hair straight down the middle, with the sides slicked back? that is one style I hope never comes back.

There was the perm for men. Yes, there was a time when men wanted curly hair, remember the dad on the Brady Bunch?

In the fifties and sixties the flat top and crew cut were in style. The flat top was the hair being about a half inch long on top, standing straight up, cut real short on the sides. The crew cut, cut short all over. These hair styles have  made  a  big come back today.

The Buzz and the spiked didn’t come across very well. Then  along came Elvis with the greasy, slick back look that the girls seemed to  love. This greasy slick back style also gave birth to movie characters, such as Patrick Swayze in the movie Dirty Dancing,  John Travolta in Grease, and the characters in West Side Story, giving this style  the tough guy look.

There was the clean cut look, such as the guys had in the, leave It To Beaver Show. The shoulder length hair, the  Afro and Dread Locks.

The Beatles brought in the long hair, Love you, Ya, Ya look, which was copied by the Hippies, with their long hair and pony tails. These long hair styles were mostly seen on Rock Singers and  Hippies.

Lets don’t forget the shaved head, the Mohawk, and the different wild colors of hair.

These days just about any way men choose to ware their hair is in style.
