Robinson Crusoe Book Review and Plot
Robinson Crusoe is a chidren’s book was written by Daniel Defoe. This book is recommended because it teaches children the values of being resourceful and self-reliance.
Robinson Crusoe was born in an English town beside the sea. He lived in the island for 28 long years,two months and nine days. He had many great adventures and encountered many dangers while staying in the island. Friday, a native of the island became Robinson’s companion and servant in the island. Robinson taught him many things. The Cannibals are the savages who had human sacrifices and eat humans. The Captain’s men turned traitors against him.

There lived Robinson Crusoe, a man from England. When he was young, he dreamt of becoming a sailor. When he was already of age, he become part an expedition. They sailed near the coast of South America during the hurricane season. The hurricane pounded their ship. All of men except Robinson drowned when they reached the island.
During his life in the island, he built a house and made a fence around it. Each day, he hoped for a single ship to rescue him, but it never came. He kept goats for milk and meat. He cultivated plants for vegetables,grains and fruits. He dreamt of also exploring other islands. He was walking along the shore when he saw a fire with bones which looked like belonged to men. One morning, he climbed his fence to look around and he saw five boats full of cannibals. The cannibals were happy except two of them. A wild man became chased ran towards Robinson’s home . The wild man became Robinson’s friend and was named “Friday” by Robinson.
Robinson told Friday that eating other men is wrong. Friday was given clothes. Friday was taught on how to use the gun. One day, Friday warned Robinson that there are boats full of cannibals. Robinson and Friday loaded their guns. The cannibals thought the guns were weapons of magic. Robinson saved a poor man from the cannibals. The poor man is Friday’s father.
A ship was sailing to the sialnd. On the shop, There were three men whose hands are tied. The captain told Robinson that his crew turned traitor under Will Atikins. The captain, Robinson and other men sailed to the ship and attacked the crew. The men in the ship were defeated. The men loaded their equipment for their return to England. Robinson left a letter for Friday and his kin, promising he will return to the island from Spain. Robinson left the island . It was the 19th of December 1686.
Be ready to face uncertainty. You’ll never know what will happen to you. Be ready to rely on yourself and on everything around you.
