We have heard about modern women haven’t we? but what about modern men. So firstly whats a modern women? One who stands up for her rights, fights against dowry, abuse, harassment etc. Then whats a modern man?? Is he the one who fights for what right or wrong? That’s nothing new right?
We have heard about modern women haven’t we? but what about modern men. So firstly whats a modern women? One who stands up for her rights, fights against dowry, abuse, harassment etc. Then whats a modern man?? Is he the one who fights for what right or wrong? That’s nothing new right? Men always had a special stand whether in politics, entertainment or Business. But then there something else that has changed over in the years among men.
Before marriage, the men i only knew very well was my dad, my grandpa and my uncles. Other than the traditional thinking they had from their childhood days there was something else i didn’t realise until i got married. Everyday mornings in a house would begin with the lady getting up in the morning and preparing breakfast , making lunch etc. But then there was another job she had at hand. She had to keep her husbands towel ready in the bathroom before bath. She had to keep his dresses ready to go to office. Funny thing was after their early morning tea or coffee ,the tea cups were left on the table which was later picked up the the wife.Sometimes even while watching TV they wouldn’t budge from their chair to get a glass of water or even a snack. All this never went to in to my mind as all was a routine in every house i visited. Its not that these men thought that women had to drop their work it just that they have seen things going around that way for years together. Nobody ever questioned their actions on that. Nor did the women ever say to their husbands, why don’t you go and pick a glass of water. Nothing looked odd to me ever until i got married. wedding planner
As soon i was married, i went to US to join my husband. As days went by i was amazed when he actually cooked for me the initial days. A man cooking, was what shocked me. Other than the cooking what amazed me was the way he would cut the vegetables with good speed and neatness. But then the things didn’t end there. He washed the vessels and even unpacked our bags. I have never seen all these behaviour ever in our household. I couldn’t make out if he was just being helpful, or it was his nature. What was even more surprising was it wasn’t for just the initial days of our marriage, but even today he does all this work. But then this was not only in my house, but many of his friends did the same things in their houses too. Washing dishes, cooking , cleaning, folding clothes etc. Men have come a long way i thought.
The new generation of men are changing. May be when they are to live away from their houses ,from their moms ,they are forced to do all this jobs, but even after marriage if they actually enter the kitchen and do some stuff then that’s a modern man. This is my thinking through my experience. Nothing against men who don’t want to do anything in the kitchen. To get any details on event management companies in India, visit http://www.funfilms.in/
