The Rite That is Wrong

N for every man hence the confusion as to what is wrong.

In today’s new age philosophy and so called age of information, it is so easy for people to obtain knowledge concerning a rite or a ritual, by which they can benefit themselves with. Notwithstanding the cost and despite the seeming absurdity of any prescription people who are hungry for the spirit(s) will always go to great extent.

There will always be specific rites for anything under the sun and there will be specific prescriptions for each rite. For instance, there will be a rite in order to earn more money, there will be a rite to be desired by another person but the magician is power hungry, he will not stop at anything. Tasting the buds of perdition is quite addictive; one operation will lead to another.

But wisdom always has a way of discerning whether a certain rite is wrong or not. The l;ight of reason and the light of faith can help an individual can help an individual human discern this. In fact, even his conscience is a great help toward this end.

In today’s pragmatic world, the ends justify the means. Machiavelli’s classic stance is now easy application for every man hence the confusion as to what is wrong.

For example, if a magus conjures spirit guardians or the buried treasures to bring these up from the underworld, it may be necessary to offer sacrifices. In such undertakings, it is not just sacrifices of animals that are required. In fact, one must wonder why the urban legend of engineers sacrificing blood of innocent children persist even now. Were these engineers simply drunk when they lose their inhibitions and their conscience bit them into telling these stories themselves? The Herodian tendency to build immortal monuments and building needed the vital sacrifice of innocent blood. It is therefore necessary to murder so that the spirits must be appeased or the foundation stones can never be in place.

But pragmatic philosophy sometimes simply find these as melodramatic qualms. In the reality of these people, the buried treasures are worth a fortune such that they can change the lives of many people. Imagine they will, say in the name Pharisaic style of Judas Iscariot and his father, Simon the leper: how many poor people can benefit from the proceeds of these treasures which the magician is willing to share afterwards. Imagine also, in the manner of Herod, the Great and the great pharaohs, how many great buildings and monuments can be built at the expense of a few insignificant persons. For this writer this sis not only pragmatic melodrama, this is a tragic comedy of errors! This is greed in the guise of charity and megalomania under the mask of posterity! For what end will justify the killing of innocent people especially the children?

For this writer, too, great builders are simply tomb builders. Real engineers and masons build for the greater glory of God and not for self-glorification.
