‘Elbit’ Introduced C-Music

Earlier yesterday “Elbit” System Corp., Israel Weapon Industry announced their successful in developing Commercial–Multi Spectral infra red countermeasure (C-MUSIC). This Airborne Laser system will act as anti-missile. It can trace and disable every incoming heat-seeker missile. It is unknown that the system able to disarm the missile with passive radar search-track missile.

According to flight-international.com and aviation-week.com, the laser gun will mounted on the high speed turrets. It can be hanged below the belly of civil airplane. El-Al and few commercial airlines say their interest to buy and install the US$ 78 million system on their air fleet especially serving through the conflict zone. The idea awake after one of El-Al airplane was being hit by the portable missile when approaching Mombasa, Kenya Airport. The Aircraft crashed and killed on board passengers and crew. El-Al, Israell national airlines has been equipped some of their fleet with anti missile guidance dispenser pod (Flare). Perhaps the effective was still in questioned since the failure in decoying the heat-seeker missile guidance is high.

DHL airplane was also hit by portable missile during take off from Iraqi international airport. Even tough zero casualties, but the damaging of man portable missile in highly concern.

Northrop Grumman and Boeing co is co-joint in building the Missile Airborne Laser System. Who’s interest on the system that? Military will be the primary user of the system which at the end will expand to commercial usage. Few years ago, America has said their intention to install the system at their fifth generation fighter warplane, F-22 Raptor, make it as unrivalled fighter jets.

Military said that this new anti missile system – MUSIC will be equipped the military attack and transport helicopters.
