A COUNTRY OF THEIR OWN
The title may seem racist. The title may hint on prejudice but the intent and purpose for the tired and weary soul says its pain and suffering. Not built on racism yet discrimination just the same.
Discrimination against your own in honor of the red, white and blue is your claim to fame.
Power placed in your hands, given to you by the hands of honorable men and women whose sweat, blood and tears made you who you are; respecting you for they were your peers.
Now you have arrived, futures held in your hands, in your mind you are a god; it’s your words that stand.
Tall before a nation once proud and strong in its might; a nation for the people by the people was its call to fight.
Like sheep led to the slaughter, obeying your every command, you’re at the top of the power structure: futures of others held in your hands.
Honor, courage and commitment is the code that was to be upheld, no where listed in your creed is taking care of your own an order to be upheld.
Your network is strong, many there be protect your back; your wrongs are so many, you’ve forgotten how to do what’s right.
Who did harden your heart? Who was it that paid the way for you to lose your sense of dignity in an attempt to prosper in your way?
What’s done in the dark shall come to the light; you can attempt to hide it but God’s light is shining and it shines bright.
Honor was the enlisted, whose values rang true and clear, not by the color of their skin but by the creed they uphold.
Favoritism not given cause I didn’t fit into your clique; I chose to rise the ranks with a conscience clear and without a restless night; the Red, White and Blue meant something to me; it’s values I believed was right.
Courage; to achieve the seemingly impossible, follow your orders without question: Do as I was told. Paving the way for my peers, that was part of my commitment to a nation once part of my soul.
Commitment; the dedication of my life I gave to you; standing in the shadows while you prospered in your way.
