A man to undergo a sex change at the age of 80!!!

The man, named as Ruth Rose, who is a former Royal Air Force officer, apparently wanted to be a girl when he was 9 years old, and those feelings never changed.

Ruth Rose, as he is known as, has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

The cost of the operation is approx £13,500.

Ruth Rose only started living as a women fully 2 years ago, and doctors have agreed to operate on him next year,.. if he/she lives that long….. but in the meantime he will continue to have hormone treatment.

Ruth Rose was previously known as James.

There is anger at this though, as this operation will be paid for under the NHS, leaving the question for many people, why this sort of surgery should take place when the NHS is struggling and has huge waiting lists for operations that are far more important and necessary.
