Airsoft Reviews – Tsd M700 Sniper Rifle
A review about the M700 airsoft sniper rifle by Team SD.
I bought the TSD M700 Sniper Rifle a few months ago. I have used it quite a bit, and wish to write a review on it. I bought the rifle for $70 (with free shipping from Evike), but it has gone up $10 since I bought it. Here are some specs:
450 – 430 fps (with .2g BB’s)
Bolt Action
Adjustable hop-up
Requires 6mm plastic BB’s
Built-in scope and bi-pod rails.
As I open the box, the first thing I notice is that there are no directions for assembling. This doesn’t really affect me, but for someone new, this might be a problem. It also comes with a second magazine, a sling, a speed loader, a small pack of .20g BB’s, and all the screws and wrenches required to assemble. After it is assembled, I notice the weight; it’s heavy, but also lighter than other snipers I have used. After I attach my scope and adjust it and the hop-up, I test the accuracy with 4 different weight BB’s: .20g, .23g, .28g, and .30g. Although it is advertised at 450-430 fps, the gun has to use .30g BB’s to be accurate, which lowers it to about 400 fps. The barrel is also longer than other snipers such as the Remington, and is made of one piece of solid metal. The only major part of the gun that is made of plastic is the stock, which comes in black, tan, green, or imitation wood. The butt is made of a type of hard rubber which is friendlier for leaning it against something on slippery surfaces. The tip of the barrel is orange, but is easily concealable. It is illegal to remove or paint the orange tip in the United States. I wrapped the grip in friction tape for a more solid hold on the gun. The M700 is also very durable. If you treat it well, it could easily last you several years. It has double loaded before, but I have never seen it jam. The clips need to be pushed into the gun fairly hard to make sure it locks in. This gun also hurts. Bad. I shot myself in the hand point blank while I was disassembling it to clean it. I had trouble deciding whether or not to go to the doctor and have the BB removed… I couldn’t move my hand for a week. I have enjoyed this gun very much, and would recommend it to anyone, from beginners to professionals.
