Arthur Currie; a Hero
by Sir Arthur Currie was a war hero because he commanded the Canadian army and got them known for their efforts, Arthur Currie was not like other generals who never fought with their own army, and he was a great commander due to his great strategies.
Arthur Currie commanded the Canadian army and captured Vimy Ridge, a 6.5 km ridge that neither the British nor the French could capture. Also, from the great commandment from Currie, the Canadians held the Germans back in the second battle of Ypres after the French were assaulted with the deathly poison gas and fled, leaving a 4 mile gap. Secondly, Arthur Currie was a hero because he lacked experience and thus never left the front lines and his men all alone, in other words, Currie was definitely not a chateau general. Currie commanded his men after looking at the land with his own eyes and didn’t desert his men. Lastly, Currie was a hero because of the great strategies he invented for his army. Arthur Currie always thought outside the box and threw the tactic books and maps away due to their incomplete information. He had amazing ways of advancing into enemy land with his fire and move tactic which proved to capture land in hours which would take months with the least amount of casualties. Due to the facts stated above that, Arthur Currie got the Canadians known for their warfare, he was not like other generals, and was a great strategic commander; it is clearly easy to see that he was definitely a war hero.
