Barbara Walters Asks Donald Rumsfeld to Appologize for Iraq
On a recent episode of "The View" Barbara Walters asked Donald Rumsfeld to appologize for the Iraq War. Should she have?
On a recent episode of “The View”, a popular estrogen filled daily show, Barbara Walter asked Donald Rumsfeld to appologize for the Iraq war.
We all know Rumsfeld rarely admits to being wrong about anything. As a matter of fact, I do not recall him ever appologizing for anything. Ragardless of that fact, for Barbara Walters to ask him to appologize was out of line. In the conversation Rumsfeld said their sacrifice made the world a safer place. Wether this is true or not, it does make the basic core function of the military any different, and that is to protect our way of life, and that sometimes costs soldiers lives. After Rumsfeld made his statement about a safer place, Barbara immediately popped off that many would disagree. Rumsfeld told her it waa great she lived in a country that she could disagree. This is the point that Barbara seems to miss, and everyone that has ever wanted some sort of appology for a lost military life. It is that same military that gives her the freedom to sit their on her duff and ask for an appology for protecting her freedom.
The cost of freedom is never free, and many of a life has been lost to protect it. There will always be a wrong decision made somewhere and there will always be some Monday morning quarterback that says they would have done it differently. Lets make the quarterback appologize for throwing it to the wrong receiver. Lets argue with our spouse driving a car and make them appologize everytime they make a wrong turn. A man would never ask his wife to appologize for that, but… yes, we know the opposite would be that way, particluarly if they were on a show like “The View”.
