Book Review a Boy in a Hurry for Manhood to Arrive

We all journey from childhood to adulthood but this story is unique as it tells the tale of a young man who hated school and joined the Army and signed up for two tours in Vietnam. This book is not about Vietnam, but about this young man’s decision to not only join the Army but to reenlist upon returning to civilian life.
It tells of the changes any soldiers go through when returning from a war zone and how sometimes the soldiers do not always recognize how and even why they changed. But the changes are there nonetheless.
This wonderful book explains how he, as a young man coped, and how he climbed up the ranks to become a Drill Instructor in the Army Reserves. He tells just what the military taught him and what serving in the military meant to him.
If you know of anyone in the military, this book is one you won’t want to miss. It makes a wonderful gift for any veteran in your life as well. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Highly recommended reading.
