Five Tips for Joining Today’s Military
When deciding to join the armed forces with all that is going on in the world is important to have a few pointers.
Think Enlistment Bonus, Think College Money
With today’s military being embroiled in many different combat zones around the world and many more sure to follow in the Global War on Terrorism every branch of service has sweetened the pot with fat enlistment bonuses for new recruits. Some are a just a few thousand dollars and some are upwards of $40,000! Keep in mind that bigger bucks usually means bigger danger and less desirable jobs such as an infantryman carrying a rifle and walking everywhere he goes. Lastly, every branch of service has the MGBI or Montgomery GI Bill which offers college money once you complete you term of enlistment and receive and honorable discharge. With recent law changes and a revamping of the MGBI it is better than ever. When I enlisted I had to have $100 deducted every month out of my paycheck for the first year totally $1200 to receive the MGBI. Today they require no money to be paid in and have added many new benefits to the program that can all be explained in detail by your recruiter.
Joining today’s military carries with it many life altering decisions that have far ranging repercussions that may not be readily apparent. With our military increasingly engaging in hostile actions throughout the world it becomes more important than ever than potential recruits to weigh all of their options carefully and not make their decisions lightly.

I wish you would have let me proof read this before you submitted it. I would have a few things to add and correct. But, overall not a bad article…by the way…for those reading this opinion…i am a recruiter…so i know what I am talking about…PS in case you were wondering…I hate this job…as do most recruiters…so go easy on them when you talk to them..peace
