For Our Veterans!

As more veterans are leaving combat theatres to return to a normal life in America the weak economy along with the challenge of adapting from combat is proving to be a humongous hurdle. Veterans are returning to the aftermath of a bad economy with little hope of finding gainful employment due to combat related experience not being needed in a modern society. While soldiers’ peers were receiving college diplomas our brothers at arms were falling four to six years behind in their college education depending on their term of service.

With such a weak economy unemployed professionals are pursuing lower tier jobs while entry level professionals are being pushed to pursue careers below their education levels while military members who have served our country are waiting in food stamp lines and unemployment offices. The Department of Defense claims to have transitions programs that acclimate military members to civilian life but their best efforts have fallen incredibly short of the goals at hand. 

Our government needs to support the brave members of our armed forces by providing qualified members with acceptable jobs for their self preservation. The days of throwing our heroes to the wayside needs to become a regretted part of the past. As the economy strengthens we need to promote our natural leaders to positions of authority in business and the economy. The standards and qualities that the modern military instills in its members is a quality that could definitely aid the United States in becoming the great nation remembered by World War II veterans as they returned from war.
