Fort Campbell

Home of the Air Assault Division, screaming eagles.

Fort Campbell, Kentucky is the only Air Assult Division in the world. Home of the screaming eagles, strategically standing on both Kentucky and Tennessee border. Trying hard not to lose sight of the heritage and history of Fort Campbell and surrounding area.

  From a Military stand point…

They have two of the most prestigious Special Operations Command units, the 5th Special Forces Group and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. As well as a sizable medical and dental, provide training for National Guard and Reserve units.  Supporting active, reserve, retiree and vetran personel, along with family and Army civilians.

  From a visitor’s standing point…

Security and safety is not taken lightly; random vehicle checks, speeding and talking on a cellphone is NOT tolerated. Being polite with the guards, even if you are getting your vehicle checked and or are not able to find paperwork, makes it easier on both of you. There is definately plenty to see, from the historic aircraft to the random shows put on.

All around, Fort Campbell is one of the best qualities of life for soldiers. I enjoyed every chance I got to go there. Wether just sitting in the passenger seat or driving to get from place to place. Most of the people there are friendly, enjoy their job, and are a joy to be around. So if you ever get the chance to go there, I would recommend it.

The best part of being there, is knowing your soldier will be home soon!! Welcome home ceremonies, usually held in the hanger out in the airfield. The best feeling to have is when you soldier comes home safe, you being there to welcome them back. If you ever get to experience this, whether as a spectator or family. It is a great sight to see.
