Granny Post

If you see a discrepency in the rhythm; this is actually two poems I wrote about the same character. I put them together. I hope you enjoy Granny Post.

Did you see where Granny Post put her teeth?
No not I, but, the bed I’ll look beneath
Did you see where Granny Post put her glass eye?
She has a glass eye? That I had not spied!
Did you see where Granny Post put her wooden leg?
No, that I have not seen; but, I know she calls it Peg!
Did you see where Granny Post put her artificial arm?
Poor Granny Post has lost her parts. But, still she has her charm!

***

If you should see dear Granny Post then give her a hug from me!
Her heart is pure, and faith as strong as the old oak tree.
If you should see dear Granny Post then look carefully around.
The angels are always close. They love her voice’s sweet sound.
If you should see dear Granny Post and turn your head just right
Then you will see her halo shine in the bright sunlight.
If you should see dear Granny Post then ask her to sing a song.
Her voice so pure the angels cheer. Her faith it is so strong.
