Korean War Effects

            Why is the world allowing the North Koreans to break the rules of war and then do nothing about it? The North Koreans have sunk a South Korean war ship killing most of the crew. Then they repeatedly attacked South Korea with over 200 bomb shells. And last, they have constantly been doing underground nuclear testing. Well, sixty years after a tragic war, the North Koreans obviously didn’t hesitate from attacking the South Koreans and affecting the whole world by possibly putting the communist and anti- communist into another devastating world war. Now, why is nobody doing anything about this and why are the North Koreans doing it in the first place?

            On March 23, 2010 the North Koreans shot a torpedo out of nowhere and sunk a South Korean war ship that was patrolling the border. According to David Williams and Paul Bentley, “The North Koreans state that they had fired warning shots at the ship to tell them that they are about to cross the border”. They North Koreans should have at least given another warning be for sinking a war ship and killing 104 of the ship’s crew members. Even though the North Koreans were using self defense they should have use a less violent way to deliver the message. The North Koreans are always trying to find ways to cause trouble if they aren’t looking for trouble they are most likely making plans for trouble. If they keep this up they will cause more trouble all over the world.

            North Korea already has a bad reputation with anti-communist the last thing they need to be doing is bombing South Korea. Reporters Tania Branigan and Ewen MacAskill state that “North Korea says that the South Koreans were shooting at them first so they retaliated”. The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-Moon, says that “The attack was one of the gravest incidents since the end of the Korean war”. The north Korean were right the South Koreans were shooting but not at them. It turns out they were training for combat. Most likely the North Koreans knew this but they are always trying to find ways to mess with South Korea. The fact is that the bombing killed over seventy innocent civilians and four innocent military soldiers. The North Koreans need to be more confident before they start shooting 200 bomb shells at a military base.
