The new tent system that the military replaced the temper tents with are refered to as ARC tents. ARC is not the original acronym for them. I was a part of a team that was testing them for the Air Force, and at that time they called them the Alaskian Shelter System (ASS). They were renamed because someone complained about the acronym.
