Most Dangerous Jobs in Afghanistan According to Death Rates

What are the most dangerous British Military jobs in Afghanistan?

I have undertaken my own research in determining the most dangerous jobs in the British military in the Afghanistan conflict.

  1. The results are calculated by working out the highest percentage of those killed in each regiment/core.The most dangerous job is as a Royal Marine Commando, 16.5% of those K.I.A. (killed in action) or by explosion are Royal Marines, concluding that this is the most dangerous profession.
  2. The second most dangerous job is in the The Rifles were 13% of troops killed in Afghanistan are from.
  3. The third most dangerous is The Parachute Regiment, with 10.31% of soldiers being killed in Afghanistan being from this regiment.

Just from these regiments are corps alone they account for almost 40% of all troop deaths in Afghanistan (223 at time of compilation)
