Navy Captain Shows Raunchy Videos

Captain Owen Honors is being investigated for showing raunchy videos on his ship, the Enterprise three or four years ago. News of the videos were published by a Norfolk Virginia newspaper Sunday. It was no secret to the Pentagon but they have a red face and made the statement that the Navy put a stop to that kind of thing four years ago. Sailors on the ship say Captain Honors is a caring person with a sense of humor, and they say you need that on long deployments.

Navy Captain Shows Raunchy Videos

Videos that came out Sunday in a newspaper in Norfolk, Virginia have been more than embarrassing to the Pentagon. The videos made three or four years ago that were at first down played as humorous skits are now called “unacceptable.” The videos were played on an aircraft carrier, using gay slurs, pantomiming sex acts and setting up suggestive scenes. Played on the ships television system during the weekly movie night when Captain Owen Honors was second in command of the USS Enterprise. Captain Honors appeared in the raunchy skits. He has since become commander of the ship.

It was no secret to Navy higher ups. They issued a statement that no videos were now allowed with inappropriate content. “They were probably hoping it would all go away and when it didn’t, they had to say something.”said Michael Corgan, a Navy career officer.”Honors showed poor judgment.”

The Navy is going through a change and actions that were tolerated before do not go over well now. They are trying to shift away from the behavior that came out in the Tailhook scandal in 1991, when Navy and Marines were disciplined for alleged assaults and indecency at a Las Vegas convention. The Navy’s all-male submarine force is opening to women this year and working toward accommodating all the gays in it’s ranks. Change is on the wave of the future.

Sailors on the Enterprise are defending Honors, saying his skits provided much needed relief and morale support during long deployments. They say Honors is a man who let them blow off steam with corny and sometimes outrageous videos. Misty Davis, served on the Enterprise from 2006 to 2010. She said, “He was a caring professional and, yes, he had a sense of humor, but you need that on a boat.

Navy authorites should also take into consideration the feelings and sentiments of the navy people.

I saw this on TV and thought it was disgusting behavour for a person of such high ranking. Apparently he got promoted after this happened. Having a sense of humor has nothing to do with his behavour!

The captain should be embarrassed for doing something like that. You would think that he would know better than to show naughtty videos. Thanks for sharing this because I hadnt heard of it.

You know my husband was in the Navy and if he had done something like this I would have killed him.

He used poor judgment but he did give the sailors something to look forward to and laugh about on a long deployment. I didn’t think it was bad enough to lose his ship over, but he lost it.

This story has been all over the media for a few days. I think the captain was just having fun, his poor judgement has cost him his career. Very sad
