Soldier Deployment
The deployment of a group of brave heroes.
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege and honor to be part of a deployment of a group of soldiers from one of our local army bases; I was very touched and moved on how they prepare to take the journey.
However, on the same token, I was sad to see all the families that have to stay back and not have their husbands, wives, sons, daughters and boyfriend/girlfriends for a long year.
Moreover, wondering if they’re going to see their loved ones again.
Not knowing how the situation is in the Middle East and what they have to do to survive.
Also was very impressed with local police and fire departments on how they took the time to sit on the street with sirens and all to salute them, as the convoy was going trough the local towns.
See all the people in the airport, stop talking and look at them and their families walking to the terminal.
Some group came later with sandwiches and peanut bags, jelly and some other things to feed them as we sat at one of the terminals waiting for their flight to be ready to take off.
At one point, I could not stop the tears running down; as I saw a little girl hugging her father, want him not to go.
Husbands and wife’s! kissing their spouses and saying good-bye.
The parents and grandparents blessing the daughter
As she hug her brother and saying good-bye to her boyfriend.
Nor the hug of a best friend can give to another.
Trying to make jokes to break the tension and stop from crying even harder.
Most of all, looking at two soldiers that had no one with them in that particular moment to say good-bye or receive a kiss or a hug and to wish them good luck.
Looking around I found myself with others in a different world that I never had to imagine.
All I can say is this, “All my prayers to all the soldiers who sacrifice themselves and their unselfishness to put their lives on the line to provide security for their family yours and mine.”
“God bless you all, Hoping for a quick and safe return.”
“Thanks for letting me be a part of this, I will always have all of you in my mind and my heart.”
