Super Marine Spitfires

A description of a spitfire.

Supermarine spitfires were a English single-seat fighter planes produced through out WWII.

Their most distinctive feature is the elliptical (oval) shaped wing shape. This gave the spitfire incredible turning abilities. Reginald Joseph Mitchell (the designer of the Supermarine spitfire) copied the wing shape of the Heinkel He 70, a light  mail plane and potential Luftwaffe (German air force) dive- bomber that first flew in 1932.

The aments of the Supermarine spitfire were originally two Browning machine guns that were later changed to four Browning machine guns to the very late models eight Browning guns.

The original price for one spitfire was £12,604.
