Tanks of World War Two
World War Two wasn’t jsut about men and rifles, but of armor to. here is some of the armor used in world war tow from the diferent countries involved. enjoy.

Somua S35: the S35 was a French cavalry tank. The s35 was built for speed. It was also stronger in amour and weapons then it competitors, and the panzer. The tank was used by France, Italy, and Germany from 1936 – 1945. the tanks armor was 47mm thick all around. It also had a 47mm tank gun, and a 7.5mm gun. The tank could reach speeds of 32 mph which makes it able to out fight and out run most of its opponents. However, though it was effective, it was not able to be strategically deploy which led to only 430 unite to be built.

T-34: the T-34 was a soviet medium tank. It began it production in 1940 and ended in 1958, however it is still used today. It was known as the world’s best tank, until other German tanks, like the tiger, were sent to destroy the T-34. The T-34 has 52mm armor all around. It carries a 76.2mm tank gun and two 7.62 mm machine guns. The T-34 had a speed of up to 33mph. the t-34 was continuously produced throughout the war to maintain effectiveness and several other variants were built. Over 84,000 T-34 were produced.

Type 1 Chi-He: the Type 1 Chi-He was a Japanese medium tank. It had stronger guns and thicker armor of most Japanese tanks. It started production a year after Japan entered the war against the United States. Japan needed a stronger tank that could stand up against the Sherman. The Type 1 had 8 – 50mm armor. It also had a high velocity 47mm tank gun. There were also 2 7.7mm machine guns. The tank could reach speeds of 44km/h and had a range of 200 kilometer. Due to the late production of the type 1 only 170 units were built.

P 40: The P 40 was an Italian heavy tank. It was used by the Italians and Nazi’s. it had a complex system of armor. The front turret was 50mm thick and the sides and rear of the turret was 40mm. the hull was 50mm thick. The P 40 has a 75mm cannon as a main gun and 1-2 8mm Breda machine guns. An optional Anti-Aircraft gun is also available. The P-40 could reach speeds of up to 25mpn or 40km/h. the tank was effective at ranges of 280km. only 103 P 40’s were built but it was still a main tank for the Italians.
