War in America
Now when we think of war now a days we think of Iraq, but what about the war at home?
In America there is a huge war between people. The topics and views of people are different and usually vary greatly, but every one has a strong belief one way or another. What I am talking about is the war in Iraq and what it is doing to Americans.
I hope that no matter what every American supports our troops. No matter how you may feel about the war itself, the troops that are fighting and dieing to protect something that many people do not support. This fact I fear leads many people to judge those who are in essence just doing their jobs.
Let’s compare this little idea. How would you feel if you worked at a supermarket and people judge you because you sell alcohol and tobacco products? As an employee you have no say over what is sold to the public, and as soldiers, they are employed by the US government to do the task that they set for you to do. Soldiers do not truly have a choice in what they do, they just follow the plans set forth by the US government, and so how is it fair to judge the soldiers?
In every day life in America, people are debating the war in Iraq and are condemning the soldiers, whether they mean to or not. By saying that this war is wrong, may be a good observation, but you are making the deaths of all those soldiers meaningless. Lets stop talking about how wrong this war is and start talking about how brave are soldiers are for doing what their country wants them to do.
