Yellow Ribbon

The military announced today that their starting a new program called “The Yellow Ribbon Program”.This program was created to help  and there families cope with being deployed. This is  a great  program but it was long overdue. Just on the basis that today’s solider’s are although trained for combat, most never think about them actually having to go to war. Because of economic times, more people are considering serving because of there financial situation , school money, or just a way out of a troubled situation. I served in the military and i seen first hand how when you sign up they tell you there’s noway or a slim chance you get deployed. In other words you will be deployed at some point and they already have a spot for you. And what they are now realizing is that this program should’ve been applied from day one.

Although its many that say there ready ands what they joined for but its many that say the opposite. Ive seen the young faces when there told there being deployed. At the time they signed up they were ready but after realizing that they actually will be in war some can’t handle. I remember when i told my mom i signed up i know she was worried everyday after that she would get that call from me saying i was on my way to war. I know she was worried and i never actually though about how she was going to feel. Wondering was this the last time she would see her son. And i started looking at everybody different wondering the same is this the last time i will see my mom,brother,sister,my  cousin’s….. Anyone can say their ready for war but most aren’t so i think that the yellow ribbon program is although long overdue it is right on time. With more first time solider’s deployed this program will help our solider’s and there families a great deal!
