Autism Unity
A Social Website in hopes of changing the lives of families who have loved ones on the Autism Spectrum.

With the still staggering rates that our children are getting diagnosed with being on the Autism Spectrum, It is hard to imagine what the next ten years will look like.
29 year old mother Amy Ramsey lives in Kansas City, Mo with her two young boys and Husband. She see’s her two year old and has joy in all the little growing stages of awareness that he brings. Her other son five years old and with autism, there is a constant pain of not knowing what is in store for his future. So many children are falling through the cracks in school and society.
Amy’s son was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two. She had no idea of what autism was or where to begin. There was no one to tell her what therapies might help, or even what each therapist does. The last few years she spent hours and endless nights researching and hoping for some comfort, or and answer.
Even within the last year, so much more awareness has grown, but still not enough says the young mother. Amy’s piece of the puzzle to offer is a Autism Social Network. This network was built over the last two years out of the families two little bedroom apartment. Her dream was to make a place where parents can come and get answers in one place.
The website is a light very Facebook like theme. It is also Facebook and Twitter integrated. Parent’s who have children who are on the Autism Spectrum go through so much and don’t always have the time or feel like going out to socialize at the end of the day so it would make sense to still have a circle of friendship even in the comfort of their own home. Their is a huge Business Resource Directory just waiting to be filled with websites, doctors, therapists, schools, and the list goes on. The price to get listed in this directory? Free. Not only is it free, but there are ratings and reviews members can leave to help other parent’s out. members can add listings in their own area and then the business is able to claim it down the road if they would like.
The list continues to go on with groups, forums, videos, friendship, updated news, event’s and more this Social Network looks like it could be the next Facebook and Myspace. Only for Autism.
