Cadets: Fun and Exciting Free Organization

Cadets. Cadets is a Canadian free organization that is fun and exciting for ages 12-19!

Cadets is all about fun and discipline. You join for free and you get too go to camp! Camp is a place you go to get training in a certain trade group. You get paid to go to camp, you don’t pay at all!

There are Sea Cadets which I’m in. Army cadets, and Air cadets!

Sea Cadets you get to go sailing, boating, power boating, cannoning, and sometimes you get to train on a giant ship! Air cadets you get to go flying. Mostly gliding, but sometimes you get to fly or train on a actual air craft! Army cadets is all about getting down and dirty. You don’t get to go sailing or flying. You mostly just train in fitness and skills like accuracy and coordination.

With cadets you are NOT forced to join any kind of military or anything. You do not shoot real rifles, you shoot air rifles. Even though they are air rifles they are still very dangerous. You can however shoot blanks out of a real rifle. Usually the rifles they use are lea infields from WWI. Lots of the time if your in guard (a division in cadets) you will have a decommissioned rifle which mean the bolt is taken out so you can’t fire and rounds. If you go to Gunnery (a sea cadet trade group camp) there will be bolts in the rifles.

They give you a uniform which is about $1000.00 in cash for free. You don’t get to keep it, just borrow it. At the end of your cadet years you will be asked to give back the uniform.

In cadets you get a rank. Ranks will decide what division, camp, trade group, and seniority you will be.

I’m not sure if there is cadets for the USA or other countries. My suggestion to people who arn’t sure what cadet orgininization you want to join is Sea Cadets because they are mainly the best. My cousin has been to all of them and she liked sea cadets the best!
