Cats and Dogs are Like Family Members in America

I just can’t believe it when I first came to America. My hubby’s cat was very ill and he took the cat to the animal hospital. The vet said that the cat need to be confined because he got infection. My hubby spend almost a thousand dollars for the hospitalization and the medicines. Wow!! I can’t believe it. I just keep quiet and not even complain why he spend that much for the cat? In my country, I don’t hear any vet clinic or maybe there is in some places but not very common to us to take our animals to the hospital.

Sometimes it is funny to me to think about when my friend said, she spend hundreds of dollars for her dog’s vitamins and some other maintenance when the dog was pregnant. She then added that she is scared to spank other people’s dog or even a stray dog that would come and visit her dog in their yard because somebody might see her and report her to authorities and she might be fined of doing such thing. Wow!! how fortunate are the animals in United States.

Cats and dogs are treated like family members here. They are well provided by most owners. We can’t deny that there are also some people who abandoned their pets but there is a shelter for the animals here. There are animal rescuers who will take the animals to the shelter and people who want to adopt an animal for pet will just go to the animal shelter and get one for them to care for. What a blessing for animals when they are in America.

Another friend of mine rescue a kitten who is dying. She took her to the vet, spend her money for medicines and food for the dying cat. I could imagine if this cat happen to be in another country, she might die with nobody cares. Lots of people I know have more than ten cats in their house. They love them like their family members. They even sleep with them. What a wonderful thing for the animals to be treated this way.
