How to Spot Poor Millionaires

Not everyone who appears rich is actually rich. Some of those men and women who pretend to be millionaires are as poor as church mice and live on nothing but debt. Here is how to spot poor millionaires from the real millionaires that drive the world.

They appear rich, but deep inside, they are poor!

They are filthy rich, or so they seem but deep inside they know they are poor for the money they have invested and or the money they spend isn’t theirs. They show off that company vehicle and make everyone believe they are making big bucks, yet they are mere chauffeurs employed to drive the company CEO. They dress the part and try to use these resources to hoodwink everyone else but themselves.

They took bank loans because banks were willing to lend them

Some others are indeed potentially rich but they have borrowed so much that repaying the debts becomes an issue and they end up succumbing to the debt trap and never recover again. This group of millionaires is in this situation because of blind borrowing, a reason why nobody should take a loan just because a bank is willing to give one.

How can you spot poor millionaires?

  1. They are not close to family members – Real millionaires remain close to their families, poor millionaires distance themselves and would rather project an illusion far away from home for fear of being discovered.
  2. They never give to charity – Real millionaires are not mean. They contribute to charity and take social responsibility seriously unlike poor millionaires who have nothing to give.
  3. They show off – A real millionaire has no need to declare or show off his wealth, a poor millionaire has to. It is normal for Mark Zuckerberg to wear torn jeans but poor Shilaho has to be in a suit and tie every day. See the difference?
  4. They live beyond their means – Real millionaires budget for every cent; poor millionaires spend without planning and will often spend borrowed cash.
  5. They don’t like working – Real millionaires work very hard and take their work seriously while poor millionaires don’t love what they do. Work to them is a torture; they would rather drink every day and night.

I very much agree and most of the time they are ‘kuripot’ (stingy) :)

For some people appearances matter a lot. Poor spending habits make them suffer.

Great observations. It is the life that they live for the namesake social status that generates lots of harm. They would also spend in useless areas while questioning the useful expenses. :)

Seen none today, but I can think of a few very public poor millionaires here in NZ Likewise, I can think of a few people identified as extremely poor who have been discovered to have been millionaires when they dies. Fun article to read.
