Improper Disposal of Animals
Animals should be treated with similar rights that humans have.
To those who get rid of unwanted animals in an improper way; such as dumping them in rural areas. The only person this benefits is yourself.
If you will, picture this, the animal that you have chosen to be a part of your family and no longer want is traveling with you in your vehicle. You suddenly stop on the side of a dusty country road and kick them out. You then go back to the comforts of your home not thinking once how they may survive.
This is the perspective of many people. Everyday dogs and cats alike are left abandoned somewhere. They are left to die, however sometimes are taken in by kind hearted people living in the area. Most are weakened due to lack of shelter, food and water. This leads to being attacked by a predator or shot by a farmer. For some reason it is assumed that these animals will find a good home but this could be further from the truth. People in the rural area usually already have pets and yet they are the ones who pick up the responsibility for unwanted animals whether it be through death or adoption.
This has become a serious problem as I myself live in the country. I see new animals often that are in poor condition. There is controversy to whether or not there is a law that is against people shooting animals like dogs if the people shooting live in the country. The best thing to do if you don’t want to take the animal in is to call animal control. This way they still have a chance in life and won’t suffer. If the animal is not adopted then it will be put down which is best. It is inhumane to just shoot an animal searching for shelter. Especially if they don’t contribute harm to livestock, or your family. Although some animals have rabies or other diseases which leads back to why you should contact animal control. These people are trained to take care of them and give them medical attention if possible.
Imagine being an animal who is adjusted to a loving family which provides everything you need and then one day decides they don’t want you. You are taken away and left to survive on your own. The only chance you have is to wander around under the sun looking for water and food. The risk of living is low due to coyotes and other predators. If you happen to stumble upon someone’s land by accident there is a chance of getting shot at. All of this is because someone didn’t take the time to do what is morally right. If you are a pet owner thinking about dumping animals think again. After all the animal did not ask to be taken in by you.

I totally agree with you. And cruelty to animals may lead to cruelty to humans. . .
Well written, James.

Exactly. Humans treat animals IN the same way we treat each other

Some humans just don’t think. They don’t regard an animal’s life as a life, just something they have control over.
