Loyalty
Why loyalty, though a good thing, should not be given blindly.

Don’t be loyal just because someone is related to you, others say you should or the person expecting your loyalty is higher up in the pecking order. Loyalty to someone should come because that person has earned it. Too often we are loyal to people who don’t deserve, who use our loyalty to secure for themselves things they want. Loyalty is not something that should be given freely withoutthought. Loyalty is something that commits you to someone else without necessarily having the special extra bond of love. Anything that commits you to someone outside yourself should be examined to be sure it is something that will not lessen your own selfhood.
