Our Indian Indiscipline or Forbearance?
How everyones’s duty is noone’s responisibility is amply manifested.
It is everybody’s problem. Hence no body’s. I am reminded of a smart caption put on by a youth on his T-Shirt. “ No body is perfect, I am no body”.The other day there was hue and cry in the media about a hastily put up not so legal super market near punjagutta X roads in Hyderabad. Media was agog with this news showing clippings about the traffic chaos being created by the super mall. Both print and TV media did their best to highlight the issue, rightly. But the momentum has died down and the mall is celebrating its successful ‘First Anniversary’ with a big bash. The so called ‘victims’ are thronging the area to collect their ‘freebies’ unmindful of their agitation few days earlier and the daily problem they are putting up with. The road in front of this mall has become virtually private, with two way traffic and at times parking until the traffic inspector feels his pocket empty. Where are we ?
Now one of the news paper barons has come up with an exclusive shopping mall near about the same place. He has forgotten the furore created through the same news paper when the super bazaar came up. Where are ethics? It is easy to target the statutory authorities who have given the permission, implicitly or explicitly, but is that sufficient? By the way, when are we going to come to terms that no Governance of any kind exists in India and people need to look at only self-help. We can say that once upon a time there used to be a semblance of Governance. Since we do not like to be called pseudo, we are openly practicing anarchy without a garb. We should be ashamed of, none else
