The Taliban; an introduction

The Taliban are fundamentalists Muslims mostly from Afghanistan pashtun tribe.

The Taliban seek a leader who is pure, doesn’t take sides and doesn’t tolerate other forms of Islam’s other than themselves. The Taliban’s version of the war was inaccurate.

Taliban’s origins

In 2006 Fighting in southern Afghanistan has forced tens of thousands of people to leave their homes.

1.5 million dead, million of refugees, Orphans in Iran and Pakistan, religious school and thousands of Afghan orphans grew up not knowing their parents and being raised to hate and kill.

Mullah Omar Taliban

Afghanistan wanted a counter force to stop the civil war in their country.

Lots of people choose to join the Taliban most were part time or full time students, a “Talob” is a student who seeks knowledge. Mullah Omar was born in 1959 who was a preacher who was a leader of the Taliban, he gain respect for killing a warlord.

Benazir Bhuto, Pakistan intelligence services

Taliban were appointed to look after Pakistani convoys, the Taliban were very effective. In 1994 they rose to power and begun their brutal rule over 90%of the country.

Taliban Clinton administration

Following Pakistan, Clinton initially supported the Taliban, 1980 Reagan administration armed and financed Saddam Hessian. The policy backfired to from two wars one of which is still going today. The Reagan administration funded Mujahadin in Afghanistan.

 

War on woman

The Taliban stopped girls from going to school, women from leaving their houses and working, they were not aloud to wear makeup or any no Islamic dress. They were not aloud to wear shoes or purses go to dances or cinemas and they were not aloud to go or listen to any non religious entertainment. If they broke any of these rules then they would be shot flogged or beheaded.1994 Osama bin laden moved to Kandakar. August 1996 bin Laden declared war against America. Mullah Omar helped finance the Taliban’s offensives against other war lords in the north of the country.

 

Taliban 2001 downfall

Overthrown and went into hiding in 2001 in Pakistan in 2006 they were back in power and control. Mullah Omar and Bin Laden is suspected to be hiding in these area’s and are directing Al Qaeda who attacked places from around the world in 2006 they committed over 300 attacks.
