Astral Projection

Some people believe in astral projection, the ability to project out of the body and into the next plane of existence.

Some people believe they can explore other dimensions of human existence through the use of astral projection.  Supposedly, this is an out-of-body experience that a person can use to reach the astral plane, the next plane of existence.  This puts us in another body which is called the astral body.  The astral plane includes may things that are not on the Earth at this time.  Some of them may be from the past or the future.  You should pay attention to your dreams every night because everyone goes to the astral plane when they are asleep.

The conscious mind leaves the physical body in astral projection and moves into the astral body.  Proponents claim that some people can astral project naturally but are afraid to.  Remote viewing is an alternative approach.  In astral projection, a silver “umbilical type” cord keeps you connected to your physical body.  You must feel completely relaxed to astral project.  It is best to wear comfortable clothes and to recline.  While out of your body, you are aware of things you meet along the way.

Skeptics say that there is little evidence supporting astral projection.  Testimonials are the main evidence and testimonials are not acceptable to the scientific method.  The scientific method places the burden of proof on the people making the claims.  There are only anecdotes.  Skeptics ask why is there no documentation for the possibility of astral projection?  One noted that people who use hallucinogenic drugs often report this occurence.  Rather than some paranormal power at work, he says this is an organic explanation.

In summary, there are people who believe they can project their astral bodies to another plane of existence.  They think that people can learn to astral project.  Skeptics counter that there is no physical evidence supporting astral projection.

I try to be open minded.  If push comes to shove, I usually come down on the side of the person making the paranormal claim.  However, I just cannot wrap my mind around this whole astral projection business.  It is just too far out.  But the idea of your dreams actually being another dimension is kind of fun.  What if aliens can watch us through our dreams?

Or our nightmares?

If you could hardly recall a vivid dream then you would probably fall among the skeptics trying to refute the possibility of astral projecton. Being among the skeptics about the astral projection business will compare to a person looking for his reading glasses where he is actually wearing it. Sometimes there’s so much of ourselves that we don’t know about.
