Astronaut Says Ufos are Real

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell believes UFOs are real.

On July 23, 2008, Dr. Edgar Mitchell told listeners of the British radio show Kerrang that the UFO that allegedly crashed near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 was real.  Mitchell, pilot of the Apollo 14 lunar module, was the sixth man to walk on the Moon.  His words had a great impact because he truly believes that UFOs are real.

Mitchell said, “I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we’ve been visited on his planet.”  The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) responded,”NASA does not track UFOs.  NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life.”

Two days after his interview, Mitchell was on the radio again.  This time the program was Blog TalkRadio Shapeshifting on which he once again told listeners that the Roswell crash really happened.

Mitchell said the Air Force did not know what to do with the crashed space ship.  So they just lied about it.

According to UFO writer Billy Booth, Mitchell’s statements will have long reaching consequences in the UFO community.  Booth hopes the mainstream media will pay more attention now to flying saucer reports.  I believe that authoritative voices like Edgar Mitchell’s will help legitimize the study of UFOs.
