Eight things to watch out for in a haunted house adventure.

Do haunted houses interest you? Do you have this strong sense that spirits roam in those places? Here are some of the things you have to watch out for:

Doors and windows open and close themselves for no reason

This is the most common. It often comes with creaking sounds, sometimes banging and slamming. With strong wind blows or not, you better make sure you’re not going to be locked in!

Ghostly hands may play a creepy melody on an old piano

This creepy music is often heard in most horror movies so you might be familiar with it. Whatever it is, it can add thrills to your haunted house adventure as a sound effect!

A ghostly figure may glide from room to room through walls

We all know ghosts could pass through anything. Little kids know Casper can hit on nothing. A feeling that a shadowy figure just passed by and disappeared into thin air, or a cold breeze came by, ghosts are probably roaming around the place!

Mysterious footprints appear on their own accord

A haunted house can be a good place to locate footprints, especially on the dusty floorboards. But if the footprints seem strange and look fresh, or you see them appear and disappear especially on the squeaky stairs, you better make your own footprint by running for your life!

There may be blood stains that no scrubbing can remove

In gory movies, years-old blood stains can be tough to wipe off. So if ever there are traces of blood in the house that cannot be removed, it might have been already there for ages!

Hidden bones may suggest a violent death in the house

After seeing blood, you would expect to discover corpses or skeletons. Most haunted houses have secret chambers and hideouts or passageways. If it leads you to a skeleton, a piece of bone, or a skull, then there may be a crime waiting to be solved!

Eerie thumps and crashes are heard in empty rooms

Some spirits create noise or cause destruction. They are known as poltergeists. If there is nobody else in the house and you hear things moving by themselves, then a poltergeist is probably making chaos!

If a clock strikes thirteen, you can be sure there is a ghost around

Most haunted house movies are not complete without an old creepy grandfather clock. Its towering height, the hypnotizing movement of its pendulum, and the scary sound it makes whenever it struck an hour can certainly give you the goose bumps. The so-called witching hour strikes at thirteen – that’s after midnight – and ghosts are everywhere!

These are just but a few of the things to take note when embarking on a haunted house adventure. It all depends on your senses, feelings, and instincts to discover a lot of interesting things. Just make sure you’re not afraid at all for the shock of your life!
