Channeling: Communication with The Spirit World
This article describes the ancient practice of communication with the spirit world. Across cultures and time the practice of channeling is highly controversial but there are some individuals who appear to be the "real deal".
There do appear to be some individuals who demonstrate some uncanny ability as psychics. One of the most prominent in the United States was Edgar Cayce. His accomplishments have been well documented and can be accessed via the Association for Research and Enlightenment . Like any other psychic, he has his detractors. However, those who actually have studied Cayce’s work cannot escape the simple fact that he had an incredible success rate in treating illness; which, according to him, he accomplished by gaining access to Akashic records. A lesser known figure among psychics was Jane Roberts. Her experiences as a psychic (in channeling an entity named “Seth”) were meticulously recorded by her husband Robert Butts and a complete archive of her work is now maintained at the Yale University Library.
Jane Roberts experience as a psychic was what eventually lead to the popular new age mantra: “you create your own reality”. However, it was her initiation into the world of mysticism that in itself is a fascinating story and has great potential for a movie script. Prior to her channeling of Seth, Jane was a published author of science fiction and poetry. Her entry into channeling seems almost a coincidence tied to a request by her publisher to write a book about ESP. She began her research ( early 60s) by simply attempting, with her husband, to use a Ouija board. Their experiences with the Ouija board eventually mushroomed into her direct channeling of the entity she called “Seth”. It is obvious from reading her own notes that she was not 100 percent convinced that her experiences were “real”. But both she and her husband Robert could not avoid seeing the incredible insightfulness of the revelations provided by “Seth”. To conclude that the information provided in the book Seth Speaks was simply a product of her own subconscious would be a real stretch of credulity. The teachings from Seth were simply beyond anything that Jane herself could have devised on her own.
There is no simple resolve to answering the questions regarding the reality of channeling. And of course anyone making a claim of having a channeling ability will be subject to debunker ranting. However, one should keep in mind that debunking is also a money making cottage industry that draws as much attention as the material that is being debunked. I am convinced that both Edgar Cayce and Jane Roberts were talented psychics who managed to find the illusive doorway between different dimensions. Certainly there are other genuine psychics around the world, but Edgar and Jane are two individuals that I have personally researched over many years and can conclude that they are in fact “the real deal”.

I believe that we all have a natural psychic ability, but that not everyone chooses to use it. By psychic ability, I mean an instinct that allows us to ‘know’ things outside the realm of the conventional senses. I’m still not sure that these ‘connectons’ come from the spirit world though.

Excellent post again.!! this was really informative and very interesting piece..I agree with you, “The distinction is political, has nothing to do with methods used and credibility is highly dependent on the charisma of the person doing the channeling. “..well done! Thanks for sharing.
