Classic Triangle UFO Cases

For the past 25 years or so, UFO reports have included triangle objects in addition to the traditional saucer shaped craft.  The three most classic triangle UFO events are Hudson Valley, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Just before midnight on December 31, 1981, a retired policeman was unwinding in his backyard when he saw a triangle UFO.  This incident kicked off the Hudson Valley, New York, UFO wave.  Many reports of triangle objects were made throughout the Valley.  A group of UFO researchers, including the famed Dr. J. Allen Hynek, undertook a massive investigations into the sightings.

They set up a hot line and, on the first night, 300 sightings were phoned in.  In a major event, people pulled their cars off the Taconic Parkway to watch a gigantic triangle.  The slow-moving object caused a massive traffic jam.  There were several theories of what this craft was but the only one that made any sense was blimp.  This theory was ruled out because of the triangle’s quick maneuvers and light configuration.

In 1989 came the celebrated Belgium UFO wave.  Multiple witnesses, including three groups of police officers, spotted a triangular object with lights underneath on November 11.  This was only the beginning.  Four months later, a Belgian National Police captain observed a huge triangle UFO pass overhead.  The object was moving at a low altitude and very slowly.

The Belgian military scrambled two F-16s to intercept and identify the giant triangle.  The pilots of the jet fighters knew they were pursuing an object that had maneuverability and speed far beyond their own.  The UFO got away without being identified.  So far no one had gotten a good photograph of any of the triangles.  Physics professor Auguste Meesen investigated this strange set of affairs.

Meesen found that infrared light was not letting the objects be photographed.  Eventually, one good video film was made of one of the triangles.  A photograph was developed out of the video footage which showed the bottom of the strange craft.  With military and radar confirmations, plane radar lock-ons, and 1,000 witnesses, the Belgian UFO wave has attained classic status.

Another famous triangle wave was the United Kingdom mass sightings of 1993.  Over 200 reports of UFO sightings were made on March 30 and 31.  Most witnesses saw three lights, in other words, a triangle object.  As it visited at least two, the strange craft was apparently interested in military installations.  UFO  researcher Nick Pope, who investigated unidentified objects for the British Ministry of Defense, studied this one.

Im always amazed how UFO shapes have changed over the years from the classic flying saucer type to oval to most commonly seen today triangular shapes, is this because witnesses are affected by what they see in the media or is it changes in alien technology? Good article btw

There is a UFO hot spot north of us called Hernando County. My niece-in-law used to live there and had three close encounters. A large flying saucer hovered over her car and she saw another object come across a lake. Neither UFO made a sound.

I think the changes in shape reflect a change in alien (or man made) technology. Another possibility is we are being visited by more than one civilization.
