One week ago Sunday my ex-husband chose to take his own life. We have not been divorced but a few months and we share two children. For reasons I won't divulge we had to divorce but we were together for 20 years and did & always will have feelings for each other aside from sharing a family. The kids are 15 & 19. His number & name are no longer listed in my contacts on my cell phone and as a matter of fact his cell # had been blocked through my wireless provider. This would make it completely impossible for my phone to receive a call from that number and his name would not show up on my phone screen as it wasn't in my contacts. In any case Tuesday night I was talking with my son on the phone and my phone beeped, I look at the screen & it says "___________ calling" with his name on it. It was as though I was on two active phone calls at the same time, also not possible unless I initiated a conference call, which I didn't. All I heard was static, quickly disconnected that call & went back to my son. He asked me if I was ok & what happened. I told him, he said you know Mom, Dad is just messing with you. The kids think it's funny and like a joke from their Dad and it just completely freaks me out. It happened again today although I wasn't on a call this time. It just rang & said "_______ calling" again. I answer and again hear nothing but like white noise & static. Very odd and very fascinating at the same time. I don't feel scared just really flipped out. It's weird! There is no other explanation and I know there are several folks who would question it and that's fine but I know what happened and my daughter & son saw it as well. We have also had two instances of things happening with lights that should not have occurred when we were discussing him, one instance being right after the first phone call. I thoroughly believe that he is attempting to communicate with me. We haven't had his service yet so I don't know if it's because there hasn't been total closure to the death or if he's just trying to stay in touch, let us know he's still with us. I have no clue. Why our brain works like that I wish I knew. It might be that there are moments we want to stay or come in contact with the spirit world, we might not even be conscious about it. Things like that happens generally to people who have lost a loved one, had/have an illness, are depressed or unhappy, or like me tonight. I remembered some people I once met in Brazil, why they suddenly after 26 years popped in my mind is any ones guess. I suddenly felt very ashamed to have lost a book I was given and had promised to cherish but instead lost it and from surfing the net for this book I ended up researching Macumba etc. and came to a side that discussed Christianity vs Paganism to this one. If I stay in this mood for a day or two I’m sure there will be some kind of I think I can call Paranormal experience. Unfortunately they are always rather scary it seems that the spirits, if those are spirits, don’t like me. I was 3-4 years old when it happened the first time. After my sister died my phone started to emit a half-ring, then stop. It occurred at the time of her death: I was alone, holding her as she died. While I'm not a believer in ghost and the paranormal, since she has died I've seen her. My partner would get freaked out by the phone ring, just one half ring each night. So I bought a new phone, and the ringing continued for months. I called the phone company to have the lines checked, all OK. It stopped abruptly and it hasn't happened in years.
