Crop Circles

Crop circles have been puzzling experts since they first came under serious investigation in the 1980s. In 1989, Pat Delgado and Colin Andrews published circular evidence, which became a major bestseller. Their research focused on crop circles found in England, but cases have been documented from around the US and Canada, Brazil, France, Australia, Switzerland, New zeal-and and Russia. Crop circles are flattened rings in fields of growing wheat or corn where the stalks have been pushed over, without breaking, in A swirling pattern. There can be concentric rings or patterns of separate rings up to around 20m (66ft) in diameter and they generally appear during the night. Conspiracy theorists believe these marks are made when alien aircraft land and that our governments are aware of this but are keeping the truth from us. As proof, they point to the fact that there is often a military presence and recent UFO activity near circle sites. However as a large number of British crop circles are found in areas where there are military bases, this is hardly conclusive evidence.
