Flight of the Extraterrestrials

We could not believe what we were seeing and really – we still don’t. Even though we often speak of the encounter, we’re more than a little freaked out by it.

Once they had enough of our boring little nook, both ships raced straight up into the atmosphere with a loud, high-pitched wail and then two sonic booms that were a second apart. The putrid smell grew stronger and I assumed it was their fuel.

The sky turned black again and there was a required silence between us as we took it all in. It was far from having nothing to say quite the contrary – we just needed time to process it into words.

The next day I called the local aviation facilities and went through a few people before I got someone to admit 3 helicopters logged time at that stretch of beach during the hours we were there. However none logged the evening’s proceedings – at least not the way they actually unfolded.

Life on other planets is not a question or even a possibility , it is a definite.

Why are they here? That I don’t know, I only know they are.

I’ve heard people say they are here to study us; observe our lives from a safe distance and learn all they can.

Absolute dribble born of human arrogance. From what I’ve seen they have absolutely nothing to learn from us. If their flight technology is any indication of all extraterrestrial technology then we have zero to offer them. So earthly study is out right off.

They are obviously playful and I think they enjoy tooling around our skies and causing a ruckus. But soon they will get bored and either move on to another planet or land here in droves, enslave the entire human race and harvest those too young or old to work for food. Or maybe they’ll just steal all of our natural resources and slaughter every living soul with an all-encompassing “death ray.”

Perhaps they’ll just continue to toy with our primitive flying machines, frighten young lovers and keep us at arms length. Who knows?

Only they do.We have only to keep our eyes on the stars, wait and see.
