Ghost Hunters Episode Review: Voices of Pain

A review of the TAPS investigation at Waverly Hills that first aired 11/9/2011.

Synopsis: The TAPS team returns to Waverly Hills sanitarium in Louisville, Kentucky for another investigation. This time, they get to investigate a newly opened nurses’ wing.

What I liked about this episode: I have to admit this much; they do manage to get evidence when they go to this place. I especially loved the scene where Amy and Adam were basically having a conversation with the ghosts and even took the time to pray for them.

The part with the ball was also pretty neat again. Nothing happened with it (though they did hear voices) but, when Jason rolled it into that one room, my wife and I were on the edge of our seats expecting someone to roll it back out at them (like something you would see in some sort of horror movie).

What I didn’t like about this episode: While they collected plenty of evidence, I was a bit disappointed it was just audio evidence rather than some visual evidence too because I’m still never fully convinced there isn’t someone standing off camera knocking on the walls in response to questions, etc.

In fact, it didn’t look like they made a whole lot of effort to collect visual evidence with a thermal imaging camera, etc. This seemed to be a bit odd considering they’ve had so much success with that in the past.

Final Opinion: As I said before, it would have been nice to have some visual evidence to back up the audio evidence but I still think this is one of the better episodes this season.
