Ghosts I Have Seen

I have seen several apparitions in my lifetime. Whether they were truly ghosts or not, I do not know. I am not sure I even believe in ghosts, but I definitely saw them. Once you see them, it is hard to believe they are not real.

Ghost 1: When I was about seven years old, our family moved into an old farmhouse. The elderly couple who sold the place left behind a small wooden rocking chair. The elderly lady told me it belonged to her little boy. He had some sort of disease and used to sit in the chair and look out the window for hours. She said she was going to give the chair to me. One day, as I came downstairs in the morning, I saw a little boy with blonde hair, dressed in the attire of little bib overalls and a blue shirt. He looked at me and smiled, then disappeared. The chair was left rocking for a few seconds until it stopped. I never saw him again.

Ghost 2: I was twenty-six years old, living next door to an old woman whom I used to help out around her house. I was mowing her grass one day and suddenly got goose pimples. I looked up at a small bathroom window and there was a different older woman with gray hair smiling and waving at me. I rushed inside the house and asked my neighbor if she had a visitor. She said no. I ran into the bathroom and it was empty. I searched the house and found no one there.

Ghost 3: My grandfather on my Mother’s side of the family passed away in November of 1993. After two days passed after his burial, I was fast asleep in the middle of the night, when suddenly I awoke and saw him standing at the foot of my bed. He was a younger man dressed in a Naval uniform. He smiled and faded away. He had served in the Navy in World War 2.

Ghost 4: I was about thirty-six years old, living in the house I reside in now. I was sitting on the couch working a crossword puzzle when I looked toward the bedroom doorway and saw a soldier dressed in A Union uniform. I could see right through him. I stood up and noticed he appeared to be wounded. I told him to get out of my house and that he did not live here. He faded away. The next evening, About 6:00 P.M., I got an eerie feeling and went outside on the front deck. The same soldier was standing about twenty feet away, looking the same way he did the night before. As I walked toward him, he started to fade away. I stopped and told him he did not belong here and it was time for him to move on. I never saw him again.

Ghost 5: I was driving just outside the town I live in, when I looked over at a field of grass and saw children playing, running around and laughing. They quickly disappeared. It stuck me so much, I did some research and found out there had once been a grade school there in the late 1800’s.

Ghost 6: This one is about an article I wrote about a woman who keeps caressing me while I am asleep in bed. I look over and she disappears. I have seen her many times and this still continues to this day. I wrote an article on Triond called Strange Woman if you want to read the full story.

That is the end of my ghostly apparitions. I do not know if they were all truly ghosts or just my imagination, but I tend to believe I have seen ghosts.
