The spirit of a monk called Johannes Bryant, who claimed he had been born in 1497 and died in 1533, gave the chapel’s precise site, dimensions, and decor. Johannes also said that there was a door in the east wall of the chapel – a highly unusual feature.

Archeologist and architect Frederick Bligh Bond was delighted when, in 1907, he was given the job of excavating England’s most important Christian site, the buried ruins of Glastonbury Abbey. But he was faced with a major problem: no one knew the exact location of the abbey before its destruction in 1539, during the English Reformation, and the budget could not possibly accommodate a full-scale dig.
To find anything of historical value, Bond had to guess the site correctly the first time – or his efforts would be wasted.
Against all odds, over the next 11 years Bond uncovered most of the foundations of the vast building. The accuracy of his work was uncanny. But he did have unusual help. He was told precisely where to dig by monks from the abbe itself. And they had been dead for nearly 400 years.
Questioning the Spirits
Bond had long been fascinated by spiritualism. His friend Capt. John Allen Bartlett had produced several interesting “automatic scripts” – messages allegedly written by the dead through the hands of the living. In November 1907 Bond and Bartlett decided, not very seriously, to experiment with the method to see if it would help with the problem of the Glastonbury excavations. Their first question was simply: “Can you tell us anything about Glastonbury Abbey?”

There are documented evidences that dead to communicate with the living one specially in solving crimes. I know that some police authorities are using psychic to help authorities find killers.

As a non-believer, I have personally seen ghost: in broad daylight too. While I use to discard such things as ghost to over-active minds minds I think most of us suffer from under-active minds. The universe is grand place and we understand about a sand particles bit about it.

I know all about the abby of glastonbury that is my next quest to visit especially the legend that this is where the grail is as well as the legends of King author,however;I have never heard of this story and was completely fasinated!!!Amazing story to say the least Mr Ghaz! A very enjoyable piece that was well written and well reseached!

re4ally enjoyed this piece of history to bad for the guys who actually discovered it and then ridiculed for the way they claimed to have it, there might be some truth to it considering how accurate they were i hope so i love the paranormal and your articles keep up the great work!!!
