Is It a Ghost?
by Did you ever go to fireworks and expect not to be alive by the end of them? Here is a story about a girl killed at fireworks and what has happened since and how she was killed.
In Winber, PA., on July 4th 1911 there was a horrible accident.
At the Grand Midway Hotel in Windber thousands of people gathered at this hotel to watch fireworks. A firework blew in its launch tube and a piece of metal went flying through the air. This piece of metal went to the balcony and hit Martha Cerwinsky who was 17 years old at the time, and it slit her neck and she died immediately while the people on the balcony watched.
The Grand Midway hotel was bought by a group of artists in 2001 including Blair Murphy.
Blair said, “When we first started renovating a lot of people came forward and said that something terrible has happened here.” Blair also said, ” They just didn’t have any specific information so it was frustrating.”
Finally a guest at the hotel after it was renovated told Blair the story. People started telling Blair stories that were strange. Blair said, “Some people say that they saw a woman looking out the second floor window and I began to think maybe it was Martha.”
Ghost hunters and psychic were called in aqnd they all said there was a ghost or at least a prescence in the hotel.
One of Martha’s last living relatives Carol Bratberg came to the hotel came to the hotel a few years later while in town for a class reunion. She went there because she heard the ghost stories.
Nobody knows for sure if it is a ghost or not. It depends upon the individuals belief in ghosts.

That’s kinda creepy. This work is kinda unique, I think. You wrote like it’s just a news but I think it’s like a scary story.

This is very interesting. I think I would be a little freaked out if I heard the story of how Martha was killed if I was one of the guests. Thanks for sharing.
