Men in Black: Close Encounters of the Alien Kind

Robert Richardson was enjoying the summer ride while driving home in 1967. He had driven the road a hundred times and he knew it by heart. Suddenly, as he came into a turn, he saw a brilliant, shimmering article jamming the highway directly facing him.

The abruptness of this object unexpectedly appearing did not allow him to stop his car

in a timely manner. As a result, Robert Richardson had no choice but to crash into the object. The moment Robert hit this entity it surprisingly disappeared literally into thin air.

The “thing” that Robert had only minutes plowed his car into, had suddenly vanished!

Robert was stunned and confused for several minutes after his mishap. What was it that he knew that he had hit on the highway only minutes before and now was gone? It all made no sense.

Robert spent some time sitting in his car trying to make sense of this bizarre incident.

Nothing earthly could have disappeared in that way. Magicians were masters of illusion and illusions all had scientific explanations. What was the trick Robert had just witnessed?

Could it have been some kind of unidentified flying object or was he just too stunned from the collision to think rationally?

Later that day, Robert returned to the crash site and conducted his own search of the area.

He found a small section of pewter colored metal.

At this point, Robert decided that he needed help figuring out what it was that he hit on the road. He sent the sample he found to U.F.O. specialists and researchers. Robert tried not to think much about the occurrence and he considered the case closed yet still unexplained.

Within a week, at around 11 PM, two men appeared on Robert’s doorstep. The men were wearing black ties with white shirts tucked into black suits and on their heads were black hats. The men were wearing sunglasses even though it was the middle of the night.

The men did not identify who they were but Robert got a threatening feeling from them. They were definitely there to intimidate and frighten him. But why?

The strange men tried to convince Robert that the collision he had on the highway was all in his imagination. They told Robert that it never happened. When Robert insisted otherwise, the men became agitated and more menacing.

When Robert continued to be unyielding in his description of the incident the men became very angry and even more hostile. The men in black then threatened Robert’s wife and family if he did not hand over the piece of metal to them.

Robert watched the men drive away. He was terribly shaken but had the sense to take down the license plate number of their pristine black Cadillac.

Robert even contacted the U.F.O. specialists that were studying the small section of metal and told them that he wanted it returned as soon as possible.

But mysteriously, the Men in Black did not return to visit Robert again. More frightening and eerie was the fact that when Robert checked the license plate on the Cadillac of the Men in Black, he was told that it did not exist and had never been assigned to anyone.

Other incidents through the years have been reported about Men in Black.

One such incident involved Dr. Herbert Hopkins. Dr. Hopkins was working at the time with U.F.O. witnesses. The Men in Black also visited Dr. Hopkins.

The Men in Black supposedly took a coin and made it disappear right in front of Dr. Hopkins’s eyes. Then the Men in Black issued their warning that if Dr. Hopkins continued his research regarding U.F.O. witnesses he would “disappear too.”

Dr. Hopkins claimed that the Men in Black who visited him were bald, wearing sunglasses, black suits, white shirts and black ties. Dr. Hopkins was allegedly so distraught that he abandoned his U.F.O. research permanently.

Who were these Men in Black? Were they aliens from other planets dressed like government agents?

Men in Black reports have occurred all over the world. The Men in Black always appear, make their threats and leave. Are they part of the human imagination? If they are, then why are the reports so chillingly similar? Can so many separate witnesses seemingly report the same things?

Some people believe that they are part of a government agency whose job it is to put pressure on those humans who witness something out of the ordinary like a U.F.O.

Perhaps these agents are trying to control the pandemonium that would exist if these cases were proven to be accurate. How would the world react to positive proof that aliens from other galaxies were investigating Earth?

The 1938, the radio broadcast of “War of the Worlds” comes to my mind. The actor Orson Welles was reporting a fictional account of Earth being taken over by aliens; some humans believed the story to be true and took drastic measures to escape. There were reports of panicked listeners believing that Earth indeed was being invaded.

Were the Men in Black who visited many people around the world after a possible U.F.O. encounter simply trying to smother a potentially worldwide pandemonium?

Or were these Men in Black truly beings from outer space trying to cover-up their visit? No one will ever know the answer for sure.

But if you see an unidentified flying object, beware! You may just receive an unwelcome and bullying guest driving a Cadillac and dressed in black!
