Phantom Kangaroos in the USA!
It hops, but it’s much bigger than a rabbit! It’s an errant kangaroo!
Sightings
These mammals are not native to America. The “roos” found here are supposed to be in zoos, circuses or pets, but witnesses were astounded to see the marsupials hop free!
According to crypto-zoologists, phantom animals are those seen in places that they are not native to or believed extinct. There have been many reports of sightings of phantom cats, alien big cats (ABCs). Kangaroos and ABCs are both phantom animals. There’s been no capture or killing of these creatures. Some of the sightings are of seemingly normal “roos”. Others are about huge ones who kill animals. In reality, “roos” are non-aggressive vegetarians.
- 1899: A Wisconsin woman saw a “roo” in her neighbor’s yard. A circus was in town, but didn’t own any of the marsupials.
- 1900: A farm family near May’s Landing, NJ heard a scream and investigated. They sighted a “roo” and frequently saw its tracks. The place is noted because it is a major stomping ground of The Jersey Devil , a cryptoid with the body of a “roo”.
- 1934: Tennesseans saw a giant “roo” they believed killed geese, ducks and dogs. 1949: A “roo” was sighted in Ohio.
- 1957 – 1967: The phantom animals were frequently sighted in Minnesota, sometimes, in pairs
- 1958: “Roos” were seen in Nebraska. 1970s and 1980s: People in North Carolina, Delaware, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, New Brunswick and Ontario saw these alien animals.
- 1974: Two police officers responded to a call from a man who claimed there was a kangaroo on his porch. When they arrived, they chased the animal and cornered it at the end of an alley. The “roo” kicked at them with its hind legs. The officers backed off. It hopped a fence, bounded into the street and vanished. There were many reported sightings of the animal in the area over the next several days. Soon, it was seen in Indiana. By the end of November, the sighting reports diminished. In the two ensuing years, there were rashes of reports each one.
- 1975: A woman near Dalton City saw a kangaroo and watched it hop into a cornfield and disappear.
- 1978: Two Wisconsin men photographed a large “roo in the brush. Loren Coleman, a highly respected crypto-zoologist, examined the pictures and said the animal resembled Bennett’s Wallaby, a Tasmanian native.
- 1980: A kangaroo was seen in California.
- 1981: A “roo” was spotted in North Carolina. Police and newspaper reporters chased it but could not catch it.
- 1997: A North Carolina woman told police a kangaroo was in her yard. The animal was never captured.
Possible Explanations
Some theorize phantom kangaroos are escapees from zoos, circuses or homes. There have been only two reports of missing “roos from either of the first two, both in 1968. It is unlikely pet owners would report an escapee because it is either illegal to own an exotic or own one without a permit. There have been too many sightings to validate this theory.
Another theory holds phantom kangaroos exist and are native to the area where they were seen. While they strongly resemble the marsupial, they are different species. Some believe the “roos” are descendants of animals who escaped or were set free and adapted to their new environment. In either case, natives or descendants, they are too elusive to be captured or killed. Others believe they are from another dimension or aliens or their pets who have been left behind.
Could it be that two or more different types of phantom kangaroos exist? Some are docile vegetarians and others are aggressive killers.
